It's the Rabbit Year again!
Monday, January 03, 2011
B1: oh it's rabbit year again right... means we are 24 already...
B2: ya.. means we are going into mid 20s liao.. damn sian... .... even go facial they ask me to use collagen mask..boooo i'm becoming auntie liao.....
B1: aiya 'auntie' is defined by your state of mind, not defined by your age
Ok somehow when i type it out it didnt sound as funny... i was pretty amused when he said that to me.. prob cuz he sounded so serious =X but i guess it's really true. Oh wells.. must keep reminding myself to be young at heart. It's really strange that i always wanted to grow up but now when i'm old i feel quite irritated by all the crap around me; whether environmental or physical or mental.
Anyway to start the new year on a good note... it's time i become more mature and handle my work well. Being professional is really impt right now. Whatever the prof said during comm101 is very true when i think about how it applies now. It's still be to keep work and private life separate. You never know when people will turn against you. Oh wells. Truth of life which i have learned to accept. With that, i think i'm ready to face more challenges this year. 1.6years have passed. woohoo. Proud of myself :D Hope this year gets better! and hope everyone stay healthy... i wish my family remains with me forever but it's impossible. Maybe when the time's up, it's better for them to advance to the next stage.. regardless whether it's in this world or not.. Oh wells... I'll be strong... (i mean i'll try to be....)
Happy 2011 to me! (and whoever reads this) It will be a fabulous year!
and yes.. my life-long new year resolution is to lose weight. For 2011, losing anything more than 5 kg will make me really happy. Jia you Jia you!

7 months and 13 days from the last post....
Saturday, December 19, 2009
Times flies. I've been working for 7 months already and so far i'd say the experience has been enriching. Somehow it's like being thrown into a world of complex minds and working your way out of it, with juniority, no experience and a 'cute' face. People question your ability, commitment and character and everything under the sun. You see smiley faces with dark secrets deep within, emotional outbursts, tempers lost but yet, it's a learning experience every day. People do grow in such environments. Learning how to read people, question people and understand people. It's why seniors like to say that 'they have met all sorts of people... and their judgment is usually 70% right...' and after a while you realise it might actually be true.
Enough of work. X'mas coming again! Surprisingly i do feel quite a bit of the X'mas mood when i'm walking down orchard this year. The decor isnt exactly fantastic but it's not hard to notice we have more malls that are 'high tech' now. X'mas treees are everywhere and more common this time as well. Pretty pretty :) Oh I finally got my haircut again after 10months! Wheeeee

future... where are you?
Wednesday, May 06, 2009
While the news mentioned xx% of students who graduated last year remains unemployed, the recent events that occurred made me wonder the degree of truth in such reports. Is it a gimmick for firms to lower their starting salary? Is it really happening in S'pore?
3 job offers.
different pay range. different job scopes.
yet i chose the one with the lowest. Isnt salary really important to me? I kept questioning myself. That question made me sleepless for a couple of nights. Talks with elders like my aunt and professor made me rethink and rethink. scope, salary, progression. what do you really want? why commit yourself to a contract with penalty? and yet at the same time i wonder... why are they so keen to hire me? was i the only one who applied for the job? was it my school/character/experience/achievements? guess i must have done something right during the interviews then.
oh wells.
as i type i considered the options again. but too late. i've committed myself to one and there shall be where i would be for the next couple of years (i hope). fingers crossed. i dont seem to have much enthusiasm left anymore. many rejection calls to make tomorrow. i feel horrendously bad.
that's life i guess. a new chapter that i will soon familiarise myself with. till then....

It's been a long while..
Saturday, March 07, 2009
I didnt realise that i was so traumatised by the bangkok airport incident that i just stopped updating my blog after that. Haha it's been so long, almost week 10 in my 2nd last semester in school. Speaking of which, i'm drowning underneath piles of report deadlines plus the stress of looking for a job. I WANT TO GET OUT OF SCHOOL ASAP. I'm not sure if i'll regret it soon after that though. Rahhh. Just keep my fingers crossed and hope i get a job that i will like more than i like my life in SMU now. oh wells.
Soon rach will be in the same plight as me. or worse? Muahaha. good luck mei nu.
In the meantime, let me know if you know any good job lobangs ok?? :D

Hear me whine.. once again~
Thursday, September 11, 2008
Boo hoo i'm here to whine again.
Somehow that day i found out that my ex-classmate's birthday just passed. and i didnt realise. Ok i know it's wrong of me to totally forget about it.. but i've been really busy so er.. ya... anyway the main point is that she actually had a celebration... and i wasnt invited. as in... totally no news until i found out about it on the dear ol' facebook. Why do i feel a little weird to be excluded from such things when most of the time i have to reject people cuz i cant make it? Perhaps they are so used to it they gave up on asking me out altogether. =X why am i affected by this.. hmmmm ego issue???
as i said previously.. business is bad. times are bad. i feel lousy. why some shops can take off but mine's struggling? i'm beginning to suspect that the stuff we chose are too er.... less than mainstream. Damn. i should have just taken whatever's one all those popular blogshops.. perhaps it'd be a whole lot better! I feel like dumbo. and..... there's 30+++ of new clothes waiting for me. oh and of cuz rach. Haha it's been one week since opening. am i being too pessimistic or what? rahhhhhhhh
i'm translating my sadness into hunger for foooooddd... this is terrible. i need to go play squash. like NOW.

Reappearance~
Wednesday, September 10, 2008
It's been very long. I know. Guess what i've been busy with though...
my online shop. Shoppeeholic!
Somehow after some thought i think i was rather impulsive. And this was made worse by my dear friend who's equally impulsive. Hahaha how the hell did we get ourselves into this super ultra saturated market?! I know it's plain bad judgment but nevertheless, i've been putting in loads of effort to make it work. Maybe something more special to attract peeps over.
Problem: too much stocks to clear!
Solution: Sale? No-no. Give-aways? Big No-no. Advertise in more place? Maybe. But, we need to do something special!!! Yeah and of course, when all else fails, wear the clothes ourselves. -_-
I got a B- for my marketing. Now i'm going to do more marketing to save myself. Great. Some peeps said i'm too impatient. It's only been 1 week. I should try to hang in there. I need a bazaar or flea now. OMG. no reply from LIME yet. Sighs. Hope my first big break comes soon though.
Or maybe my photoshop is so bad that people got turned off? hmmmmm... there's a reason why ong hannah hated me last time...

i love my ipod touch~!
Wednesday, April 23, 2008
my ultra cool and ultra nice and ultra expensive early 21st birthday present from my dearest! :) I really love it and it's already filled with videos and music by now. hee thanks!!!! -muackx-
Anyway it's been about 5months since i last updated. I wanted to pronounce it dead but then it's like quite wasted since i've always crapped so much for the past few years. :P It's school holidays now. I'm glad i've survived yet another crappy sem in SMU. People who read my blog for the first time may think that SMU is a sucky uni - no it's not. the school is just full of work that will prob that forever for me to finish and little time for anything else. Nevertheless, i still believe that my school does produce most of the capable people. =X Hehe.. i'll be starting my internship at Citibank soon though. This irritating Prudential guy was like mocking me for going to a place which is retrenching people for the internship. he was like, " some places are not as good as they seems ya? -wicked smile-" idiot. think he'd probably has to slog ten years to earn money or something.
Into the 3rd day of my holidays i think i watched like ALOT of videos on tudou.com. It's a gd site. hee better than youtube. =P so many videos to watch and i can watch while i download other videos into my ipod touch. Happy happy. :) I have been watching 终极一班, 终极一家, 恶作剧2吻, 斗牛要不要 and many more taiwanese shows. think i'll soon be more like a taiwanese than rach. -erps-
It's end of April! one more month to see kiayun again. it's been so long. our Bangkok 2008 plan failed again. haix.... only mi ke is going. so sad. i wish i could go. oh wells.

my dead blog
Tuesday, October 16, 2007
i realise my blog has been pretty dead since i started uni. Maybe it's the uni life that is screwing me up. The other day i was still complaining to my colleague how studying in uni is such a waste of money: academic year is only about 8months in total and school fees is freaking $7500++, in the end we only get a piece of paper that is too rough to even use as toilet paper. That's like almost $1000 per month in school. Gosh. We simply spend money to BUY the certificates. i guess i'm beginning to believe that if you are rich enough, you can probably buy certs and take many shortcuts. sigh. depressing life.
looking on the brighter side of my life, i think i do enjoy working while studying. i can excuse myself from meaningless meetings, earn money, slack less and learn more stuff. oh and of cuz, staff discounts for different brands. it's about building up your network. -wink- even though working and studying will mean less time for everybody else, it might not necessarily be bad. absence makes the hearts grow fonder! Couples who see each other everyday are more likely to break up than couples who see each other about twice a week. (LDR is obviously a separate issue here) But then when i want to see him more he's not free. so i guess that cant be helped also. the point is, get used to it and cherish the time together~! =) oh and back to my part time job now, i've been wondering how i can survive after i quit next year. Should i change a job? It sucks to get used to having more money to spend and then having to depend only on allowance again. at least when i'm working i feel that i can go on holiday as and when i want to. heehee =X
speaking of which, i wanna go on a holiday again~ ~ ~
dont know why... i miss meeting up with the girls again. all 3 of u. i miss the starbucks girls talk. =(
in the meantime, i have my crazy sista with me. someone whom i 'communicates' with almost every night before i sleep. haha

birthday taiwan trip working exp
Saturday, June 30, 2007
This is gonna be a longer post since i havent updated for almost a month! yeah throughout this period of time i celebrated my birthday, had a wonderful trip to taiwan and slogged my heart and lungs out at work. Nevertheless, June is a good month so i shall summarise everything on the last day of this special month of the year (cuz it's holiday and my birthday is in JUNE mah!)
First of all! Birthday! i think 2days before my birthday i met up with my dear girls at Fish and Co. It was there and then that i recalled myself spending my past few birthday celebrations with my girlfriends at Fish and Co. Damn. it's been 3years. They should give me an award. Haha but i bet they wont so nvm. i'm getting sick of Fish and Co. anyway. oh ya. i must must mention this. Apparently F&C changed their lunch menu! They no longer just have a set lunch menu and with the universal menu that was used throughout the day. Now there is a special lunch menu and the food is like super duper cheap. Fish and Chips is like only $9 and $9.90 if u add a soup. Seafood platter (for 2!) is the best. $20 for the platter and $23 with additional drinks and a full salad. Wahhhhh it's really worth the money. I had 1 fish and chips, 1 new york fish and chips, calamari and hot fudge chocolate cake during the wkday lunch and altogether i only paid $39.05 inclusive of all the extra charges! Good deal right! Quick go eat F&C for weekday lunch! Haha
Oh ya. So back to my birthday. On the actual day itself i took half day off and watch Shrek 3 with my special one (which will be called SO from now on). Hee following that we had a really cool dinner at this diy bbq yakitori restaurant. Basically you can choose to bbq the yakitori that you have ordered yourself or simply let them do it. but obviously to experience it we must do it ourselves right! It was very fun! haha and the food turn out pretty nice too. The flip side is that you need to eat alot of yakitori to really fill your stomach to the fullest and it wouldnt be that kind on your wallet. It's still a good treat once in a while! =D Though a simple celebration but i still feel very happy. No frill birthday celebration. Just love and sincerity. *grinx*
Next, my taiwan trip! hee it was quite fun. Though i didnt go sightseeing much. The days were very much shopping and shopping and more shopping. I developed a weird hobby in taiwan in those 5days though. It's the waste money game also known as the 'UFO Catcher' in Singapore. If you still dont know, it's the one where you try to catch the soft toys in this enclosed machine with this claw like thingy but most of the time you will fail cuz the grip loosens really easily and you waste 1buck just like that. Those in taiwan were cheaper (NT$10 = approx S$0.50) and then i kinda spent alot of money on that. fortunately my skills were not that bad and i came back with 3soft toys! haha cheap thrill. nono. exp thrill. Yea and despite the fact the wu fen pu was abit of a disappointment, i simply love shilin night market. many worthy buys! It's the first time that i can buy many tops without trying them on first. I used to feel really insecure about it, but fortunately, all the tops i bought fit me! wheee the heels are slightly cheaper in spore as well. i managed to grab a pair of pumps at about S$8+! What a steal. hee oh and not to forget my truckload of cosmetics and skincare products. I spent so much time in watsons that he got really annoyed. =X The watsons there are all 2storeys and have many interesting things that are not available in Spore. Majolica has really pretty things. Should have bought more. haha i'm quite scared they can be sold easily here since it's so so popular that people are willing to spend $39.90 on a Majolica mascara that is sold in a shop in Spore when that cost only about S$15 in taiwan. Oh well. When people really want something, they will probably try to get it regardless of the price. tsk tsk. anyway on the whole it was good and i really really hope to go there again. I shall visit more places the next time round. hee i wonder when it will be. bleahx.
Moving on to my pathetic work. I think i should find some other job that is more er... useful? I've been doing way too much filing to learn anything else. Maybe it's just like that for the department. Nevertheless, i must say i'm a lot more familiar about bank's operations than before. And i still stand by the opinion that banks employ too many redundant people. I always see these 2girls who strolls to and fro to chat and have endless chats in the toile. I find that rather annoying. Maybe i'm jealous they can be so slack but they dont seem to need to work at all! Why do they even bother employing such people?! i guess i can never understand that. haix. Work is tough but nice colleagues do make things alot easier. I guess i'm still pretty lucky in this aspect. Given a choice do you want an extremely high salary with extremely nasty colleagues or an average salary with nice colleagues? i think most people will choose the latter. unless they are loners who only want money money and more money. =X
i have basically summed up the major events and pictures are to be up soon as well. my internet connection never fails to give me problems. rahhhhhh... GST is going up from tomorrow onwards! Sian. i hope july can still be a good month.
embrace july with a big ^_^
