the day princessjace turned into a coolie...

Today, i felt like a coolie.
I bought a bunch of clothes and this very nice uncle whom i bought plastic bags from told me a good place to get a rack (for the bazaar). It's like along the geylang stretch of shops so I had to walk over.
Side track abit.. I officially pronounce my HATRED for ROAD CONSTRUCTIONS. I had to walk such a long way just to cross over to the opposite stretch of shophouses. The weather didnt help. Ggrrrrr.
So i finally found the shop. The uncle is super nice, but... the single rack costs $33 and double-side rack costs $48. He very kindly offered abit of discount for me, but it's way off the 16buck rack mi-ke said i can find in Giant. So it was sort of a wasted trip. (i felt guilty walking away from the nice uncle, but i'm glad i didnt buy it there, because i'll probably need to cab home. it's a bad idea since our account is already in deficit. once again...)
Anyway i managed to walk a fair bit to catch a bus back to tp central. I lug around the bag of clothes for the bazaar to find the rack. STILL NO RACK anywhere in tp central. I decided to get myself KOI (bubble tea) and then my sis happily called, so i bought one for her too. Right, so by then i was carrying a big bag of clothes and 2 cups of bubble tea.
So off i went to take bus home. I decided to just try out the market opposite my house and after walking almost one full round around the entire market, i managed to find a rack!!! WHEEEEEEE It costs $24.80. Okay it's still more than what mi-ke quoted so i tried to bargain. $23 for that nice rack. So yay. I dont wanna search for racks anymore. I just decided to get it from this nice uncle (how come all these uncles that sell racks are so nice...)
Then the problem comes. How do i carry a big bag of clothes, 2 bubble tea, my bag and a long rack home? I fiddled with it for awhile and in the end the uncle helped me to load the stuff in my hands one by one. Once again, Coolie Koh in action. I carried the long box horizontally under one arm (i was quite afraid that i'd hit someone when i turn) and the bubble teas plus clothes plus handbag in the other. Fortunately nobody looks glam in a market. I had to dash my way out of the market looking like some stupid maid running errands, to avoid being spotted by people whom i might know. (You should try to be glam at all times, you'd never know who you're going to meet right?)
After walking really fast out of the market and across the road, sweating like a pig (i was seriously drenched, by my own sweat -_-), getting stared at by drivers and pedastrians, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED with semi-dislocated arms, aching shoulders, tired feet, drenched body, dropping shorts, semi-dying sandals and all the stuff that i bought.
So much for calling myself princess. I think i need to change a blogname. I thought people rest over weekends.... sighs...

Me and my neverending work... and worries
Wednesday, October 15, 2008
I think i'm an extremely paranoid person.
I've been frantically trying to clear my backlog of reports, reports and more reports. But the main thing is, even when i'm clearing them, i still worrying about the shop's business. This has come to a point where i'm thinking i might not be able to hold on for that long. OMG... ws say it's me and my 三分钟热度 again. =X Everything is tough, i know. But it has come to a point where i really dont know what i can do anymore. :( Maybe my taste in clothes is really super bad. Or is it true that i should hang in there for at least 4months, then have a mega clearance to clear all these clothes that people would never buy unless they are $10?! Times are bad. Guess my business started at the wrong time. Oh well.....
And i'm beginning to dislike those girls who make use of their power to control supplies or prices simply because their business is doing very well. I always thought it's fair competition, but i was wrong. There ARE people who think they are so hot, so many people buy their clothes, and they control everything. On one hand i envy them, on the other, i wonder what they'd do if one day something realise bad happens and they have nothing to flaunt anymore. Ok. i better stop being evil...
Anyway, HOORAY because i cleared my PR writing report, T&D mid terms, china report and ICC journal report. wheeeee now i need to clear my projects... and many many more. I am actually considering a local exchange to NUS cuz the people there seem super slack. Muaahhaha. But i dont like the fact that they have tons of exams and all of them end super late. Booohooo. oh and their courses dont seem very suitable for me. Sighs.
For some reason, i'm not too looking forward to the bazaar next week...
and mei nu... we havent found a cheap rack. :(
Now i need to quit worrying about my failing business and go to sleep. I cant wait for the semester to end. I'm not accomplishing anything at all this sem.
Life's like a lollipop. It sucks. and it only gets worse as you grow older. - my ICC prof
